| Hello gardeners and welcome to Jason's Garden Wiki, home of our virtual Garden School! To get cracking in the garden school see navigation options on the left. BUT FIRST, let's tell you about how our "school" works. Firstly, everyone in Jason's Garden is both a student and a teacher. This is the garden that gives when given, and our "produce" is an information resource used and built by our gardeners. This is a collaborative school, and anyone is invited to come in, add content, photos and So, what are we doing? We - all of us - are building a resource for our gardeners to learn more about the environment and how to live a sustainable life. Here's the thing: if gardeners don't contribute, then there's nothing to share. This is no different to the real garden that we are encouraging you to grow - if you don't DO it little by little and consistently, you will not sustain your garden. Even if this is all you learn at our garden school, we will have succeeded. And so, this Wiki is actually a CAMPAIGN.
If we succeed and together build a 'school' which houses a valuable resource that keeps growing and growing, then we say to our leaders, "Listen to us. We are serious. Functional sustainability is the platform of Peace." What's more, we back it up with a valuable resource that can actually be used in programs of education and project support. If you run sustainability projects and see how Jason's Garden can help connect you to a community of potential sponsors, product suppliers, and volunteers, then share your stuff here with us, and you'll go straight onto our "A" list for your efforts! And if adding to the wiki is not for you, come around and see what's new and what knowledge our gardeners are sharing. If you haven't already, then join up at Jason's Garden to stay in the loop and to be part of a movement towards sustainable living in South Africa. Share your support by sharing your knowledge, and LET's GET GROWING!! | |

Its best to start with what it is you like.
Make a list of all the veggies, fruits, nuts, flowers etc that you like. This will ensure that you dont end up with radish all over the garden but not a soul keen to eat them Once you have your list of favourites consider the space that you have. i love avo's but my yard just would handle an avo tree in 10 years. Start ranking your favourites in terms of what is viable for your garden.
